Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs & Hedonic Treadmill Infographics
These infographics were created to redesign common depictions of the psychological concepts Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs and the Hedonic Treadmill. During my research of these concepts, I came to an understanding that they aren't static; they show motion and our position in these systems changes as we journey through time. Coupled with this idea of movement, I was inspired by Massimo Vignelli's NYC Subway System signage design. Viewing these concepts through the lens of NYC Subway maps helped me explore the analogous aspects of the daily traversal of the NYC Subway and humanity's daily journey through Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs and the Hedonic Treadmill.
